Spring 2023 LSA Competitions

A great finish to an awesome year!

From March 14th to 24th, LSA athletes gave their all in our in-house competitions to wrap up the year. Thanks to our friends at Castle Mountain as well as support from Castle Freestyle and the Westcastle Ski Club, we hosted Slopestyle, Big Mountain and Race competitions for all athletes in grades 4-12.

Slopestyle Competition

The grade 4-6 students took over the terrain park first on March 14th for their slopestyle contest. Some great skiing and riding was seen as students put the maneuvers they've been working on all season on display. Students competed in 2 different categories based on the types of features and tricks they had been training all year long. Final scores were ranked based on the best 1 of 2 runs. A big thanks to our judges for both days: Eric Tarrant from Castle Freestyle, Craig Harriott and Rob MacGarva.

Results were based on the fastest run out of two, and NEW this year, the team event saw athletes grouped randomly across grades and gender into teams of 5 snowboarders each and 4 skiers. The fastest 5 times per team were added together to get the team award.
